How to make a paper snowflake!! Easy!

Hey guys! Welcome to my blog!

So, in this post, I’m going to be doing an easy, step by step tutorial on how to make a paper snowflake!

First of all, you will need the following items:

– Pencil

– Compass

– Scissors

– String or thread

– paper (coloured/plain or patterned)

Step 1: Using your compass and pencil, draw a circle on your paper (any size will do). (Or you can use the rim of a bowl to draw your circle)

Step 2: Using your scissors, carefully cut out your circle. (Careful… Circles have feelings too…)

Step 3: Start folding your circle. There are 3 folds in total. (This circle is paying you alot of money to fold it. Make sure you get it right! XD)

Step 4: By now, you should have a little triangle that looks like a pizza slice. XD (Try not to eat it..) With your pencil, start drawing out shapes round the edges of your ‘Pizza slice’. (Imagine your putting the toppings on that pizza slice..)

Step 5: Once you’ve drawn on your toppings..I mean shapes, using the scissors, carefully cut them out.

Step 6: Carefully open up your circle and you should now have..

A snowflake!!!

Step 7: To hang your snowflake, using your string or thread, cut off a long piece and attach it to your snowflake. You can either tie it on or tape it on with sellotape.

As you can see, I’ve tied mine. And now I can hang it on the ceiling. 🙂

I hope you guys enjoyed this post and make some really pretty snowflakes! If you found this easy then please don’t forget to give it a like!

Let me know In the comments below on how your snowflakes turned out!

See ya!

Another act of kindness….

Hey guys! Welcome to my blog!

Every year, people lose their homes. And most end up on the streets. This has become a crisis.

You see, when I first started college, I noticed that was quite a few homeless people on the streets. Either sleeping or wandering the town. Hoping…praying for some kind of miracle.

It made me realize how lucky I really am. To have a roof over my head, to be able to eat and drink whenever and whatever I want. To have people (Family & Friends) there during rough times. To have a warm bed to sleep in at night. To have a home.

I couldn’t imagine what it’s like to live on the streets. Especially during Sumner and Winter. So everyday, I donate some of my loose chain to the homeless.

Then I met a man called Patrick. I see him everyday by the train station. He is a really lovely man! He told me his story and I wanted to help him. So I bought a sandwich, bottle of water and a chocolate bar and gave them to him.

The smile I got was worth it. To know that I probably made his day, made me feel good as a person. Knowing that I helped, made me feel proud…

Moral of the story: Be greatful for what you have. Because while your reading this, there are loads of people on the streets wishing to be in your shoes. And a simple act of kindness like buying them lunch or a drink, especially in the cold season, could help them a lot…and go a long way.

See ya!

It’s started….

Hey guys! Welcome to my blog!

Halloween is now officially over, which means….DUH.DUH.DUHHH.

It’s not even the 1st December and already shops have Christmas items for sale and Christmas adverts are being shown on T.V! I’m not gonna lie, I’ve already started my Christmas shopping…well..I started 2 months ago.. XD.

But hey! It doesn’t hurt to start early. That way, you’ll be all set for Christmas and won’t be rushing around for last minute prezzies! Believe me, I learnt my lesson from last year XD.

Anyway, I’m all for Christmas! Just like Halloween, I like to go all out.

Decorations are a must. Such as the Christmas tree, tinsel, paperchains, colourful lights…. It’s all so exciting!!

It’s one of my favourite times of year. And I believe that once all the Christmas stuff is released in stores, it is officially time for Christmas. But I have some friends who believe that Christmas doesn’t officially begin until December 1st.

What do you think? Let me know in the comments below!!

I’m back!

Hey guys! Welcome to my blog!

I sincerely apologize for being away for so long. It’s been about… 2 months? Maybe longer? Either way, I really am sorry for not posting in such a while. You see, I’ve been having a bit of a tough time. In the space of 2 months, I broke up with my boyfriend, the day after my nan was taken into hospital and everything became a complete mess as I started to go down hill with my mental health.

Then on the 11th October, my nan sadly lost her battle with Lung Cancer and passed away peacefully in her sleep.

For me and my family, it was traumatic because everyday we went to see her in hospital and each time she was either getting better or worse. For example, one day she’d be bad and the next day, she would be better.

Either way, I can’t help but feel a little guilty, because the day before she passed, I promised I’d make her some rice pudding and bring it in the next day. But unfortunately, she never got to taste it. I also made her a pillow with her initials on it that she never got to see…

But I think what hit me the most was seeing my mum and grandad cry for the first time ever and also realizing that I was never gonna see or hear from her again.

These kind of things hit you so hard that you just don’t know what to do or how to react! And as much as I’ve wanted to just bawl my eyes out every chance I’ve got, I’ve tried to stay strong for my mum because I don’t want her to be constantly reminded.

My nan’s funeral is less than a week away, and I’ve channelled my thoughts and emotions through poems and a song I wrote for her the day before she past (which she also didn’t get to hear).

To make It up to her, I’m going to be reading my poem out at her funeral. So then she’ll finally be able to hear it. And as for the song, I plan to finish it and record it. So then I’ll be able to say “I did it nan”.

As much as we hate it, these things happen and there’s nothing we can do about it. It’s part of life and we need to accept that. And if you are reading this and have lost someone dear to you then I want you to know that your not alone. And that the ones that depart from us are not gone. They walk beside us everyday.

I send my love,

Emmimori X

Purple rain was my nan’s favourite song… This is for you nan xx❤

What to do with the flu..

Hey guys! Welcome to my blog!

Yes, I’m afraid it’s coming up to cold season, and I’ve already caught the flu! Within a few short days, I’ve gone from cheery and well to sick and tired. I’ve almost had every flu symptom know to man and what’s worse is that tomorrow I have my surgery and they may not be able to perform it!

So at the moment, I’m curled up on the sofa, wrapped up in my Batman blanket with a cup of herbal tea, watching Jack The Giant Slayer (Great movie, really recommend watching!). I’ve been trying all week to get my strength up and luckily, I’m feeling a lot better. Here’s what I did…

Nasal Blockage

A stuffy nose is one of the worse feelings ever. It leaves you remembering all those times you took your clear breathing for granted XD To help me breathe better during day and night I would blow my nose, one nostril at a time so I didn’t strain my sinus. By blowing your nose, you clear your nose of the bacteria and viruses it carry’s. Therefore reducing the overload of mucus. I also used VapoRub and menthol tissues. The softness reduces the redness of the nose and the menthol clears the blocked passage.

Sore Throat

A sore throat is killer. Especially when you eat, drink and sleep. Strepsils are good for sore throats. They contain menthol and help soothe the throat while your immune system fights off the infection. Soothers are good too. Another way to soothe a sore throat is to take medications such as Nurofen: Cold and Flu. Nurofen works wonders during a flu and work really well. But be sure to read the instructions before use.

Another way would be to drink warm beverages such as herbal tea. I often drink green tea and other herbal.

Sore throat and nasal blockage is very common when it comes to the flu. So is a chesty cough, severe headache, body ache and fever.

Again, Nurofen: Cold and Flu is very effective as well as wrapping yourself up to keep warm, resting, eating regularly and keeping yourself hydrated with water. Another good remedy would be to mix honey with a tea. The honey acts as a menthol and is good for relieving congestion. Also garlic is good to eat with your food. But don’t eat it on it’s own as you can give yourself a stomach ache! (I’ve learned from a personal experience XD)

Last of all, visit your doctor and have them check you out. They can also prescribe medication for you and may even sign you off sick from work or school.

Anyway, I hope you guys enjoyed this post and I hope you guys stay healthy this Autumn. To lower your risk of catching a cold, be sure to wash your hands thoroughly, keep warm and have a good, nutritious diet!

See ya!

Saying goodbye.

Hey guys. Welcome to my blog.

So today was the day that me and my family said goodbye to my brother’s best friend Tyreece. It was a really sad day for us all and I simply still can’t get over the fact that he’s gone.

It was a nice, quiet ceremony with all his family and friend’s. His little coffin decorated with dinosaurs (They were his favorite) and his hat he loved to wear….

Tyreece was a character. He would tell jokes that didn’t makes sense, he loved the avengers and had all the costumes and props. His favorite characters were The Incredible Hulk and Captain America. He had a quirky fashion sense and he, along with my brother, would sing Ed Sheeran’s Castle On The Hill together. Their favorite song.

I remember when Tyreece came to my brothers birthday. He was dressed up as Captain America and was a very wonderful young man. Even now, I can remember it like it was yesterday.

And I know that even though he’s not with us physically, he’s with us spiritually and from the heart. He will never be forgotten and will forever be remembered.

I’m not gonna lie, I was a total wreck during the ceremony. I just couldn’t bare to imagine what his parents must be going through. Even by just thinking about it all bring’s a tear to my eye. There was so many people there who came to celebrate his life. So many that me and my mum ended up standing…but I didn’t mind. His last goodbye song was Ed Sheeran’s Castle On The Hill….And as we all left, some went up to his coffin and blew a kiss. I was one of them.

I recognized quite a few people at the ceremony. A number of them being teachers from my brother’s school. Teacher’s who taught both my brother and Tyreece.

As a goodbye, my brother wrote a message on a little card, tied it to a balloon, and let it go in the garden.

All I can do now, is remember Tyreece threw photographs from my brother’s birthday and memories…

I know George will never forget Tyreece. And as I said before, even though he’s not with us physically, he’s with us spiritually and from the heart. He live’s on through everyone who knew him.

“Rest in peace Tyreece, you will never be forgotten. I hope your doing well up in heaven and having fun… Sleep well little man”

Today was the day..

Hey guys! Welcome to my blog!

So…today was the day. What day you may ask? Results day of course!

The time in your life when you open that envelope of doom, to unmask your hard working achievements…

For some it was a proud day! I know many people who have worked incredibly hard and achieved the results they had been hoping for. And to that, I say….

For some, it wasn’t a proud day. And I understand that. If your reading this and feel you didn’t do well in your exams, please hear me out.

Although you didn’t get the results you wanted, you are still amazing. You are still great. You are still incredible. I know you’ve tried your very best. I know you worked really hard. But you know what? You can still do so many great things! Don’t let some letters and numbers on a paper decide your future. Decide it for yourself. Even if it means starting from the bottom. Because when you start from the bottom, there’s only one way you can go. And that’s up.

There are loads of opportunities out there, just for you.

So don’t give up. Never give up. You can do this. Because when a door closes, another one opens.

Why you shouldn’t take things for granted.

Hey guys! Welcome to my blog!

I’m gonna keep this post short with one simple message.

Don’t take anyone or anything for granted.

To me, this is an important quote. Why? Because it’s underestimated and should be taken more seriously.

Who know’s what life has in store for us! It could be anything from breaking up from a relationship to losing someone close to you. I know it’s not something people want to think about, but it could happen.

You see, the reason I decided to write this post was because my brother recently lost his best friend from school and it breaks my heart knowing that we won’t see him again. It really made me think, “We should of done this…” and “We should of done that…”. It made me feel a little guilty for not reminding my brother to hang out with him (FYI- My brother is 7 years old. )

It seems that people only seem to realize what they’ve had when they’ve lost it. So many of us have been blessed with a family, a home, an education, health..yet so many of us think nothing of it and sometimes wish we didn’t. But there are so many others who would love to have what we have.

There are some without parents, some who are homeless, some who are suffering from an illness, some who have broken up with their partner. There are so many who are wishing that they have what we have. Yet we still take it all for granted.

So please guys, don’t take anything or anyone for granted. Because you don’t know what’s round the corner.

Do yourself a favor. Right at this very moment, call your loved ones and tell them how much you love them. Ring up your friends and tell them how much you appreciate your friendship. Forgive those who have done you wrong in life….. Because it may be the last time you get to.

Live life how you want to live it. But never forget those around you who have been there from the start.
